Abstract

Open source technology, with its transparency, community support, and rapid iteration, is increasingly competing with traditional proprietary software in enterprise applications. Its widespread adoption not only reduces costs but also promotes a more diverse technology ecosystem.

Main Text

Traditional proprietary software offers certain advantages in stability and technical support; however, high licensing fees and closed systems limit innovation. Open source software, by making its source code available and relying on community-driven development, reduces enterprise investment and fosters technology sharing and collaboration. Leading enterprises in Europe, India, and parts of China have embraced open source solutions, achieving more autonomous and flexible IT systems.

Of course, open source technology still faces challenges in security, maintenance, and commercial support. In the future, by further integrating enterprise-level support services with community contributions, open source technology is expected to improve continuously, helping enterprises build a more open and flexible IT ecosystem.

Conclusion

Open source technology is demonstrating robust vitality in enterprise applications, offering a new approach to breaking the monopoly of proprietary software. With ongoing improvements in support systems, open source is expected to become more widespread while ensuring security and stability.
